How Dairy Planet Is Rebuilding India’s Dairy Future

India produces more milk than any nation on earth. Yet for years, the people powering that industry, namely students, farmers, and entrepreneurs, had nowhere to turn for real, practical, technology-driven guidance. In 2021, Abhay Kumar Dubey, Founder and Director, decided to change that. He built Dairy Planet, bringing on board Ravi Bhushan as Director, whose 12 years of expertise in IT, process automation, and scalable system architecture became the digital engine behind the entire vision.

Today, Dairy Planet stands as a DPIIT-recognised startup that is redefining how India's dairy professionals learn, operate, and build sustainable businesses at every level of the industry.

The Gap That Was Costing India's Dairy Industry Billions

India is the world's largest producer of milk, contributing over 25% of global milk production. The dairy industry growth in India is staggering, with the market projected to cross INR 30 trillion by 2030. And yet, for decades, the knowledge infrastructure supporting this industry has remained deeply fragmented. Students graduating with dairy technology degrees struggled to find a platform that spoke their language. Farmers with generations of experience had no structured pathway to modernise their practices. Entrepreneurs with capital and ambition had no trusted guide to walk them through setting up a processing unit.

What makes Dairy Planet genuinely different from every other player in this space is the combination of expertise its leadership brings. Abhay's B.Tech in Dairy Technology with deep hands-on experience in plant operations and quality assurance gave the platform its technical credibility. Ravi's 12 years in IT, process automation, and scalable system architecture gave it its technological backbone. One understood the cow-to-consumer journey inside out. The other knew how to digitize, scale, and future-proof it.

What Is Dairy Technology and Why Does Every Indian Need to Understand It?

Before a student, farmer, or entrepreneur can benefit from any platform, they need clarity on one fundamental question: what is dairy technology? Dairy technology is the applied science of collecting, processing, preserving, and distributing milk and milk-derived products. It spans everything from animal husbandry and milk quality testing to pasteurization, homogenization, fermentation, and modern packaging. It is the science that ensures the glass of milk in your hand is safe, nutritious, and consistent every morning.

For anyone wondering how to learn dairy processing step by step, the answer begins with understanding the full chain. The milk processing steps explained in sequence are: raw milk reception and quality testing, clarification and separation, standardization, pasteurization and sterilization, homogenization, cooling, packaging, and cold chain logistics. Dairy Planet walks learners through every single one of these steps with scientific clarity, practical examples, and industry-grade precision. For the student who once felt lost in that classroom, this is the map he never had.

An Ecosystem, Not Just a Platform: What Dairy Planet Actually Offers

Dairy Planet is not a textbook digitized and uploaded online. It is a living, breathing dairy learning platform that serves three distinct audiences at once: students, farmers, and dairy entrepreneurs. For students, it delivers syllabus-aligned courses, interactive quizzes, expert mentorship, and a rich library hub. For farmers, it offers dairy farming training online that translates complex scientific methods into actionable, ground-level guidance. For entrepreneurs, it provides Detailed Project Reports, feasibility studies, plant erection consultancy, and end-to-end commissioning support.

At the core of its technology offering sits the proprietary PCS Plant ERP Suite, a fully integrated digital platform built on a cloud database with a Laravel backend and encrypted architecture. It handles procurement, real-time production monitoring, logistics with route optimization, and HR management. Every plant Dairy Planet sets up is made "Digital-Ready" through this suite, ensuring clients achieve operational excellence from day one. Learners do not just understand theory; they graduate with exposure to the actual dairy industry knowledge and digital tools shaping modern dairy operations.

The platform's content is shaped by a powerful mentor network including Dr Nishant Kumar, Principal Scientist at NDRI, Dr Nimisha Tehri, Assistant Professor of Food Microbiology, and Er. Ankur Trivedi, Assistant Professor of Dairy Technology, among others. With 570 active users, 183 industry recognitions, and campus ambassadors at institutions including BHU, BAU Ranchi, SVPUAT, CDFT Udaipur, and SMC Dairy Science College Anand, Dairy Planet has built a national community where dairy minds connect, learn, and grow together.

Five Years of Purpose-Driven Growth: The Milestones That Defined Dairy Planet

The journey of Dairy Planet is not a story of overnight success. It is a story of deliberate, step-by-step progress, each year adding a new layer of credibility, reach, and impact.

2021: Dairy Planet began as a grassroots initiative, serving as a helping hand for dairy technology students to bridge their academic knowledge with real industry demands. The website officially launched with curated study materials and syllabus-aligned content. First 100+ active users joined the platform, and free workshops for students were initiated.

2022: User base expanded to 300+ learners. First comprehensive dairy processing technology course launched. Collaborations with universities were initiated to align content with specific curricula.

2023: Officially registered as an MSME (UDYAM-BR-28-0021323) by the Government of India. Mentorship program launched. 500+ active users milestone crossed. Free farmer productivity workshops conducted across rural Bihar.

2024: Advanced certification programs launched in cheese technology, ice cream manufacturing, and dairy plant management. Multilingual content introduced. Job placement assistance is integrated. Industry visits and plant training collaborations established.

January 5, 2026: Officially incorporated as Dairy Planet Private Limited, marking the beginning of large-scale plant setups, value-added product advisory, and full ERP deployment.

2026: Recognized as a certified startup by DPIIT (Certificate No: DIPP239711). Farmer-first ERP solutions and AI-powered learning paths are now in active development.

Farmer-First Is Not a Slogan. It Is a Standard.

Every service Dairy Planet designs begins with one question: Does this improve the income and stability of the farmer at the base of the supply chain? When the platform conducts free workshops in rural communities, when it guides Farmer Producer Organizations toward modern breed selection and scientific feeding practices, when it helps small dairy entrepreneurs build direct-to-consumer models, that question is always the compass.

This philosophy has earned Dairy Planet endorsements from professionals across the globe. Govinda Rai, Production In-Charge at Patna Dairy Project, noted that the platform delivers reliable daily insights all in one place. Andre De Oliveira, Director of Business Development at Somaticell, Brazil, called it a true global knowledge hub. And Dr D.N. Gandhi, Former Principal Scientist of Dairy

Microbiology at NDRI, praised its ability to make dairy science practical and easy to understand. When an institution of NDRI's stature endorses a startup from Sasaram, Bihar, that is not a small thing. That is proof.

The 'Intel Inside' of India's Dairy Industry: Where Dairy Planet Is Headed Next

Dairy Planet's leadership describes its long-term ambition with striking clarity: to become the 'Intel Inside' of India's dairy industry, where the most profitable and successful dairy brands in the country are powered by Dairy Planet's infrastructure, ERP systems, and human capital. The roadmap ahead includes AIpowered personalized learning paths, a dedicated mobile application, physical training centers in key dairy hubs across India, and an entrepreneurship incubation program for dairy startups.

India's dairy sector is standing at the edge of its own White Revolution 2.0. The first revolution gave the country milk sufficiency. This one will give it dairy intelligence, digital infrastructure, and farmer prosperity. Dairy Planet is not waiting for that revolution to arrive. It is already building it, one student, one farmer, one plant at a time.

Abhay Kumar Dubey, Founder and Director, saw a gap. With Ravi Bhushan as Director, bringing the technology vision, they built the bridge. And India's dairy industry will never be the same.
